Recent evacuations of Kelowna, Fort McMurray and Waterton, and the current raging wildfires in California, make it clear that this ominous threat is becoming more pervasive. What can we all do to ensure our alert system and evacuation plans are effective so that no one - not the vulnerable, not seniors, not pets - gets left behind during an evacuation?

Banff's wildfire preparedness will be a priority issue for me once I'm elected to Town Council. And with this week being National Fire Prevention Week, I want to get this community conversation started, with the generous help of these knowledgeable experts.
